Visualizing 2022

Preparation > Visualization > Action can be a powerful catalyst to unlock intentional movement and self-determination.

Be the ball, Danny.

- Ty Webb

This is the second post in a series of three focusing on positive change in 2022. Find Part One, titled Preparing for Change, here.

This morning, I’m going to describe visualizing our future self and how it might help us define where we are heading in the new year.

Let’s set the stage…

Preparation > Visualization > Action

We live in a constructivist reality where we can build and shape our lives. Some people act on this and some people do not.

The Preparation > Visualization > Action series can be a powerful catalyst to unlock such intentional movement and self-determination.

We get ready, we vividly imagine the destination, and then we GO!

Visualizing ‘22

Imagine waking up on December 19, 2022, getting out of bed, walking to the bathroom, turning on the light, and looking in the mirror.

Who do you see there? Who would you love to see there?

Take some time and let this settle. Imagine details.

Close your eyes if you want, get all fancy, and even take a few deep breaths.

What is the change you made? It can be a small thing or a big thing or more than one thing.

How are you different? How is your life different?

What did you give up? What did you add?

Imagine your face. How did it change? How did your life change?

What are more details? What are you doing differently?

Take a minute more…

You can summon these images you’ve imagined between now, 12/19/22, and forever, really. You can fill in even more details. Tweak things. Whatever you like. It is your imagination. The more vivid the better.

Maybe, you’ll come back to these images of your future self in your mind tomorrow morning or the next day. Maybe you’ll write some stuff down.

Part Three

Days begin lengthening this Wednesday, December 22 - a signal of expansiveness.

Next Sunday, I’ll publish Part Three in this series called Action Phase 2022! or something like that.
